The
Costa del Sol stretches along just
over 160 kilometres of Málaga
province and is one of Spain's most
popular tourist destinations. The
area's mild climate is the root attraction
that makes it possible to enjoy the
beaches and a wide variety of outdoor
activities year round.
Most of Málaga coastline
is beach and with most of the hotels
of the area built close to the beaches,
most of the finest restaurant within
a walking distance to these beaches
and the best climate in Europe,
it is not difficult to understand
why this area is so attractive to
local residents and tourists alike.
And these beaches, whih are cleaned
every day, offer the visitor excellent
services such as showers, beach
umbrellas, beach beds, palm trees,
children's parks, special access
for the disabled, lifeguard services,
police, water sports, etc.
Costa del Sol is also famous for
its golf courses. It has more than
40 clubs, most of them in the western
part of the region, making this
the area with the highest concentration
of golf courses in all of continental
Europe. This has a lot to do with
the climate since on the Costa del
Sol the sun shines about 300 days
of the year; and also it has a lot
to do with the development of quality
tourism in the region in the past
few years.
